A Nature Park in the Var
Inaugurated in 2020, the Espace Nature Départemental du Plan is the perfect place to get away from it all. Less than 2 kilometers from the campsite, you can go for a family walk, do some sport, take some superb photos or observe the flora and fauna that have settled here. Enjoy a 135-hectare green lung, just a few minutes from your favorite campsite!
A pleasant place to stroll between Toulon and Hyères.
16 kilometers of flat trails criss-cross this superb natural area. Accessible to all, you can bring your stroller. Listed as “wheelchair accessible and self-guided” on theVisitvar website , disabled visitors will also be able to enjoy the trails. Navigate between the different landscapes offered by the site: arboretum, orchards, water features, children’s play area, allotments and themed gardens.
It’s a real paradise for family walkers. The landscape also offers superb views of the Rocher de la Garde and the Coudon. Your dog can also join in the fun, as long as it’s tied up and picks up its droppings to keep the area clean. For younger guests, you can also take a pony ride with Les écuries du Parc.
Unusual: you’ll discover a spot of graffiti and various sculptures, such as these bison that scrutinize you, giving the place an amusing Far West air!
A wonderful place to practice your favorite sport! Located close to the “voie verte”, which passes less than a kilometer from the campsite, you can get there for your jogging or bike ride. It’s possible to make a circuit within the plan, allowing you to do your sport in complete safety, without a single car!
Children are also welcome at the Espace Nature Départemental du Plan, where they can enjoy a large play area with slides and other games, and the best part: right next door, there’s an open-air fitness area with elliptical trainer, pull-up bar, double walker, squat machine, stretching bench…all with free access.
A varied flora and fauna
Numerous bird species frequent the Parc du Plan, and they’ve made no mistake! There are some 200 different species that enjoy the site, thanks to the variety of water features. The flora is not to be outdone: fruit trees have been planted in the orchard, as well as numerous species of trees in the various gardens. Free events are offered throughout the year to help you learn more about this magical place, so don’t hesitate to visit the Var department website. The Maison départementale de la nature du Plan. The Maison départementale de la nature du Plan is a privileged observation area on the Plan, and the essential starting point for any visit. It’s also a place for information and exhibitions.
